This week the Colorado Senate will consider a bill to ensure residents can look after someone’s dog without a license from the government. Like many sharing economy bills, the legislation (HB 1228) arose after an excessive regulatory crackdown. Across the country, longstanding industry players are the force behind crackdowns on upstart sharing economy platforms. Taxicab unions against Uber and Lyft. Hotel groups against Airbnb and HomeAway.
